Today we are going to make a cup, the first part of our set of dishes. We will use it for our English lessons later.
Check the following things before you start:
1. A good piece of modeling clay
2. Ball-shaped plasticine
3. A knife to cut
Step 1. Ask to make a cylinder and a hadle for cup as on the photo.
Step 2. Take a knife and cut out a hole inside the cylinder
and take out the odd clay.
Step 3. Stick the handle and a cup together.
Step 4. Take ball-shaped plasticine and make a filling for the cup. In our case it`s juice :)
Below the steps you can find a lesson plan to do this craft!
Step 5. Add your filling, make a straw and

enjoy the result!

A detailed plan of classes at home with your child. Follow the plan and get results. If you do not know a foreign language well, then your task is to pronounce keywords and sentences in a foreign language. For clarity, perform tasks together with the child at the same time, so that he will understand you better and will not need to translate what is said. At the initial stage of training, the child may not understand what you are saying to him. In this case, you can explain what was said in your native language, so that the child does not close himself in. This is absolutely normal, after a few sessions, he will definitely get used to it. To make it easier for them, do not immerse them with unnecessary information that this is a different language, that they need to learn it, and so on. Use the following example to make it easier for the child to understand: show the child a ball and ask what it is, and then tell them that people who live in other countries came up with a different name for it, they decided to call it “ball”, so to understand them, we learn these names, and they learn ours.
Key words:
Cup, knife, handle, clay, colors
Key sentences:
I like yellow. Show me… (clay). Take… . Make…. . Cut… . Let`s make a cup. It`s… What color is it?
P/T: “Good morning, dear! Today we are going to make a cup. Are you ready?
Child: "Ready!"
If your child can`t answer remind the answer for that question.
P/T: “Great! Before we start let`s check if we have everything we need! Do we have clay? Yes or no?”
Child answers. When you ask show a flashcard.
P/T: “Correct! What about knife? Yes or no?”
P/T: “That`s nice! Now let`s choose the color of the cup. Which one do you want?”
Child points to the color and you ask about the color:
P/T: “what color is it?”
Child answers. If he answers in English then move further to the game but if he can`t answer then review colors using flashcards. After you finish reviewing play a game with flashcards to practice colors and other words: you put all flashcards on the floor all over the room, after that you say any of those words and ask to find it. Your child has to find a word you say and make a sentence with that word: “it`s…(yellow)”. Children like this game very much and they memorize words very well playing this game.
After you play go back to the table and mold the cup: one is for you, another your child. When you mold with your child you give a good example to follow and your child can understand you without translation. Give the following instructions for your child and follow the steps how to do it. Look at the pictures on the web site.
A dialogue for the game:
P/T: "find yellow!"
Your child start looking for that color and after he/she finds should say:
Child: "It`s yellow!"
Then the next word and so on. After all the flashcard are found ask about the favorite color:
P/T: "What color do you like? As for me, I like red."
Child: "I like..."
Use the following commands to make a cup:
1. P/T “Now we are ready to start! Take a big piece of clay and make a cylinder.”
2. P/T: “take a small piece and roll a sausage to make a cup.
3. P/T: “Take a knife and cut out a hole inside the cylinder.”
4. P/T: “Well done! Now stick your handle and the cup together.”
5. P/T: “Fantastic! Take yellow clay and fill it inside the cup.”
6. P/T: “Nice! And one more: take some clay of any color and make a straw.”
P/T: “Perfect! Your cup is finished now! You are doing great!”
After you finish sum up the lesson. Ask questions about the colors you used, if your child likes it or not and discuss the way you can play with this cup. Everything you make should have some aim and your child should not treat this lesson as a waste of time. He or she should feel that they do something important and useful because it will help to motivate your child keep learning.
Ask these questions in English:
What color is it?
Do you like your cup?
About the rest issues you can ask in your native language. When you finish give your child your tab to play online lesson on our website to memorize new words better.
In addition to these questions, find out whether your child liked to mold, whether it was difficult for him/her, what he/she liked more, find out what he / she thinks about this activity, and so on. The more he/she tells, the better he/she will remember what he/she has passed, the child learns to think, correctly build his/her speech. During these sessions, the child uses both hemispheres, which contributes to full development.
P/T: “That`s all for today. I`m proud of you!”
